JVCA Health Services Emergency Healthcare Assistance Program
Our Agency operates the Emergency Healthcare Assistance Program, which helps to address major barriers to healthcare for many low-income, uninsured residents of Jackson and Vinton Counties, who are in crisis and in need of prescription medications, medical supplies, diagnostic testing, medical and dental treatment procedures, specialty consultations and/or transportation to medical and dental appointments. This program is provided through CSBG funding to help improve the quality of life for those we serve. The Emergency Healthcare Assistance Program is operated through the JVCAI Health Services Department. Referrals are accepted from any source for persons of any age. Individuals determined to be eligible for services may receive assistance for up to a cap amount of $300 during the calendar year. We collaborate with many local pharmacies, medical supply vendors, transportation and medical/dental providers, who have worked with our agency over the years and are willing to accept our vouchers and bill us for patient services. Individuals in need of assistance should call for an appointment to (740) 384-5119 or toll free 1-800-686-4339 ext. 35.
Dental Sealant Program
Our program targets second and sixth grade students in the Vinton County, Wellston City, Jackson City and Oak Hill Union Local Schools. Students, with parental permission, are screened by a Dentist and sealants
are placed by a Registered Dental Hygienist at no cost to the parents.
Services are provided through a grant from the Ohio Department of Health,
Bureau of Oral Health Services.
