JVCA Health Services Primary Care Clinic
Our agency operates a health clinic for clients of all ages in Jackson and Vinton Counties. This program allows residents of these counties to receive basic healthcare services. Ohio Medicaid, all three Medicaid Managed Care Plans, Medicare and many private insurances are accepted, although our clinic is not a preferred provider for any private insurance. A sliding fee scale is offered for clients with no insurance coverage. Staff members prepare an income analysis for all new clients and annually for established patients, in order to determine need and eligibility for services. Appropriate referrals can then be made to various inter-agency programs and outside agencies for additional services. Judith Lubbers, M.D., Board Certified in Family Practice, serves as Medical Director and provides physician services for the Health Clinic. Clinic hours are held on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling (740) 384-5119 or toll free at 1-800-686-4339. Emergency assistance for prescription medication may also be provided for uninsured individuals if deemed eligible and funding is available.
Dental Sealant Program
Our program targets second and sixth grade students in the Vinton County, Wellston City, Jackson City and Oak Hill Union Local Schools. Students, with parental permission, are screened by a Dentist and sealants
are placed by a Registered Dental Hygienist at no cost to the parents.
Services are provided through a grant from the Ohio Department of Health,
Bureau of Oral Health Services.
